Thanks for the welcome. I have been an EK fan since I was 19 yrs old. The calibers I shoot are:
.38/.357, .38-40, 41mag, .44spec/.44mag, .45colt, .454casull, .475linebaugh and .500linebaugh. I reload and cast bullets for them all. I own some Freedom Arms but mostly rugers that have been rebuilt by Clements, Huntington and one Reeder. It is amazing how addictive custom sixguns are. Every time I order one, I tell my wife that it is the last one. Somehow I always find another one that I have to have. I figure that I better get what I want now because I am an Engineer for Motorola. If you keep up with the financial pages, then you know that my job isnt very safe. So, I will keep on buying while I can.

What are you casting/ loading for the 454? I've been thinking about getting st up for some time now, could use all the tips I can get. I load  FA260JFP in it right now with all the H110 that fits. Like to go with a heaver non gas check at medium velocities.

In my .454 and .45colt I load a 345gr semi-wadcutter with a 80% metplat. I had this mold made by Mountain Molds. I cast with pure wheel weights and water quench them. I push them to around 1500fps in my 4.75" FA. I push them to around 1200 in my 5-shot .45colts. I could push them faster but they are comfortable to shoot. If I need something bigger, I go up in caliber.
