last summer a buddy gave me about 100 rounds of DEN 42 30-06 surplus ammo.
Shot a few rounds checking the scope and put rifle a way for a week.
Went out with my Sisters kids and shot up some more rounds.
About a week later was talking to Petr and was told military ammo from the 40's was corrosive. Checked online and found all DEN was corrosive. Well, checked rifle and found no sign of rust or any thing. Cleaned it anyway.
Way back in the 60's had a can of Garand ammo, 8 round clips, shot that and had no problems, didn't know about corrosive then.
Ok, so what gives, I have heard some horror stories about rusted and ruined guns, was I just lucky?
thanks for any info, ace
