Going from memory, maybe page 164-5 in H.I.W.T.!, Mr. Keith wrote his specifications for an improved military rifle.  (I borrowed the book, no copy here.)  It used the best of...the Enfield, Garand and Springfield.
Anybody know if this has ever been made?
What would be close?
Thank you.

David.
Found it on page 184, bottom right.

"My idea of a new military was to combine the best point's of the model 70, the Springfield, the Enfield, and the garand"

There is a lot more in that chapter.
thanks for the lead.

How much of designing of the Winchester Model 70 did Elmer have to do with? I use to work with a "270Jack" fan and he was dead sure Elmer had nothing to do with the rifle.

This has to do with an idea EK had for a better military rifle.  He didn't like the Garand.  He felt that there was a lot of room for improvement.  My original question was an attempt to find out if anyone had ever made any kind of prototype based on EK's idea.
I don't have a copy of HIWT! (yet!), and I don't have the notes I took about his ideas nearby.  Perhaps someone can jot down EK's concept.
Essentially, it looked to be a "best of the best" combination that made a lot of sense.
Sure would be a fine rifle.

I believe the round he recommended for it was the equivelant of the 7mm mag.
