Welcome Aboard. Is the DVC the same as the USPSA DVC motto?

It is Sir. I shot IPSC from 1977 until about 1981. Thank you for the welcome.

I shoot 5-10 IPSC matches a year, started  shooting in the revolver division last year. They won't let me shoot my single actions, however, have to shoot my S&W  629 .44 that we "moon clipped".

When I started, I used a 1911 (a real one) with one of those bianchi roughout clip IWB holsters. Those were the days I could actually see those sights <G>. I upgraded to a series 70 and a summer special. Of course this was before the equipment race began. I've shot an IDPA or 2, and still use the same rig. Same for CCW. My second gun is usually a 29 with silvertips.

It's come full circle. they now have a "Single Stack" division for the 1911/ 45 shooters. Pretty much limited to a stock pistol, (almost)  mods allowed for improving reliability, sights.

Welcome shot IPSC years ago with a stock 1911 and a Chapman Hi Ride holster.  Gave that up a few years bacl when some fella brought his new ray gun that cost him a total of about $4K could not believe it.  Shot IDPA for a year was even a safety officer but they want $) a year and the club will not let you shoot unless your a IDPA member.  I have a 100 acres here in Indiana and now I shoot turkey, deer, squirrel and varmits.  I strated reading Elmer and Skeeters stuff many years ago and have books people would pay big bucks for.  Sixguns, Hell I Was There, GUNNOTES and Good Frends, Good Guns and Good Whiskey.  I have a magazine from 1980 that Skeeter had stories and handloading info in.
