emk1161 Registered: 06/20/09 Posts: 24 | 09/29/09 at 05:44 PM I can assure that theres no rust. It took two months for me to prep prior to paint. The problem was last week we had one of the most impressive sunsets in years and I was afraid the paint was going to look pink. Al said he would help me post the pics so I took the pics instead of waiting. The 45 license plates in the pic are the original plates as you can see in the registration. He would only have lic plates that were calibers (of course) I don't know if it was before Idaho offered personal plates or not.Next month I'm headed to the ranch on the Northfork with Ted. I think if I leave a couple days early I'll make it in time(top speed 55-60) I'm used to a fuel efficient v-10 instead of the 300 six.I thought it had been long enough since I told of buying it and better show something. Don P.S. I don't smoke but maybe that pipe thats for sale would look good on the dash???? |
ChrisO Registered: 01/03/09 Posts: 140 | 09/30/09 at 04:42 AM Sorry Don & Al for the rust comment. I should have looked closer, but your right, it is the shading I saw that threw me off. I used to have an old Escort, car that is, and the first place it rusted was around the wheel wells. |
emk1161 Registered: 06/20/09 Posts: 24 | 09/30/09 at 01:36 PM Chris, no apologies neccesary. There was alot of surface rust. Especially around the wheel wells. It was hidden behind the aluminum trim. I tried not to replace too much as what would be the point of having it? I did replace front right wheel trim and some window seals. After hunting season I'll have the front seat re-covered. I think the sun is almost as tough on a vehicle as the rain. Next week I need to get new tires the date code on these is 1990. Its the second set it ever had. You don't have a set laying around do you? My wife said something about spending more money on an old truck??? Something about leaving with the checkbook and a BMW dealership, I wasn't listening. Thanks Don |
ChrisO Registered: 01/03/09 Posts: 140 | 09/30/09 at 02:17 PM Sorry Don, No tires here. My Wifes 2006 Taurus needs 2 more before Winter hits. About 3 weeks ago I bought her 2 new ones for the front & put the better of the old 4 on the rear. Their not bad but I should get 2 more soon ! |
