Re-read the story, shooter was shooting corbon magnum ammo, then swiched to corbon 44 special, so didn't notice the lack of recoil and bang when firing the shot after the squib. Even quality manufactured ammo will have a bad round in the box every now and then. (If you consider COrbon "Quality")
