Elmer said it,and I will repeat. Modern pistols, not revolvers mind you, were designed to fire jacketed ammunition, for military purposes. They also feed the best, in FMJ configuration. I do not know what caliber you are using, or what kind of gun you have, but this is the best answer I can give you. Now, records have been set with specially set up target pistols, with lead bullets, but this generally involves smoothing the feed ramp, throating the barrel ,and setting up the extractor for the feeding cycle. The pistol, if a standard barrel will lead quickly, unless very hard alloy is used, and the bullets are .001 to .002 over groove diameter. This will delay the leading problem, but not eliminate it.
