The beretta is a good gun . so is the taurus, it seems in the cowboy world (sass), the market is flooded and the numbers needed for profit aren't there so companys are getting out. HELL the gaucho was partly designed to be able to be fanned, just like OL'HOLLIDAY.  Seriously, anyone know if Elmer and Co Charles Askins went toe to toe over handgun hunting?  In Askins bookfrom 1953 " The Pistol Shooters Book " he wrote "People who should have better judgment,spin many dangerous yarns about shooting big game with the onehand gun.  There isn't a pistol or revolver in existance that is fit to use on game the size of deer." He went on to explain that he was a "devotee" of small game handgun hunting, but the use of a 44spl on large game as just wrong. However he did acknowledge Elmer as "invaluable assistance" in the front of the book. I think it would have been a very lively debate around the campfire at deer camp.
