I hunt white tail deer with a handgun a lot, the fish cops as we call them (Fish & Game Officers) one came upon me while I was on one of my stands a few years back walked up to me and started talking about this and that as he was doing so he was shifting his weight from one side to the other looking at the tree I was leaning against finally he mustered the courage to ask what I was doing , I am dressed in a full hunter orange camo pattern jump suit kind of thing with a face blocker on in the middle of deer season topped with a orange hat! I said I was hunting he then asked with what? I was tempted to say I was going to "grin them down" like Daniel Boone but our fish cops don`t have a sense of humor half way thru the season so I pulled my coat open a little to reveal a S&W M29 8 3/8" He was stunned he asked how accurate it was and what was the range. The first question was easy it`s deadly accurate! Second is harder it depends on whom is holding it at the time. My answer to the second one is if one can hit a 8" paper plate at 50 yds keep all 6 on but can`t keep all 6 on at 75 yds his range is 50 yds. Keep all 6 on at 150 yds and you don`t have to carry a rifle. I saw the fish cop at the range the next summer and gave him a peek at what one can do with a good revolver I pinged the 200yd B27 at will even let him have a go he went away with a new outlook on hunting handguns.
