How do you get a 29' Nash with a broken leaf spring home?
Call AAA?
Fortunately I was only going 30mph or so on 99 instead of 75 on the I 90. Sounds like you drove over a pile of steel pipe when these let loose, pieces go flying. Tire slammed into the rear step and smashed it, but didn't come out from under the trailer. blocked up the axle and chained it to the frame, and loaded it on a lo-boy

Lowboy's are $150/hr and up here in the Seattle area, But the AAA/ RV+ covered it 100%. Worth the money if you need it, think I paid $120/ year for two cards. Plus it's one phone call, no messing around. First truck was on the scene in 15 min, came prepared to fix a flat? (Guess something got lost in the translation) he called for the lowboy and it was there in less then an hour. pretty good for Labor Day. Strange, lost a leaf spring on the 99 F350 (170,000 mi) last year, lost a spring on the '95 Nash this year. Is it me? Better go ahead and put new springs on the '85 Garland if the rule of 3's applies to springs. What about the '92 boat trailer... __________________ “If it rolls, floats, flies or shoots, runs on gasoline or gunpowder, goes fast or shoots a big bullet and makes lots of noise, thus producing torque and recoil — it’s cool.”

You have to be properly prepared for such an event. In Africa you would have some spare cape buffalo hide. You wet it and wrap it tightly around the broken spring it shrinks on drying. I have seen vehicles so repaired go all season. Or buy equipment with coil springs! Len
