I'd always seen the large pin, just hadn't noticed the latch. |

Thought I'd post the 44 spl Clements Custom Guns did for me on a 357 Ruger several years ago. I didn't think to ask him if a locking base pin latch was possible.

Very nice gun target shooter. You could put the #5 latch on it but it does require welding the frame hole. If you do not already have one a belt mountain pin with a set screw is a very good improvement usually gets rid of slop in the factory pin and can lock up so the pin does not come forward or disengage under recoil.

SUPER GUN targetshootr! I LIKE THAT FRONT SIGHT. WHAT KIND OF REAR DID YOU USE? DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A RUGER REAR SIGHT FROM WHAT I CAN SEE. I WILL HAVE TO HAVE A # 5 BUILT ONE DAY. I WILL USE SAFARI'S AND YOUR GUNS FOR INSPIRATION. SIMPLY WONDERFUL SIXGUNS GUYS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. MB __________________ Barranti Leather Co. |

Thanks Safari. Mad, he made a one-piece custom rear sight to resemble the original. He's in the process of making two #5s on USFAs which he said he'd post a pic of when they're done. I swapped him an officers target barrel so he could see how the original adjustible front sight was made. At the time he built mine he wouldn't make one so l had it made by a local machinist. |

Rare find in a room of rare finds. Have to find a place on the website for this one. AL __________________ “If it rolls, floats, flies or shoots, runs on gasoline or gunpowder, goes fast or shoots a big bullet and makes lots of noise, thus producing torque and recoil — it’s cool.”
