My good friend Fermin Garza approached Master Sixgunsmith Alan Harton a while back and commissioned a No.5 replica. He wanted to build the gun as true to the original as possible with a few exceptions; coil springs through out, a slightly lengthened gripframe, frame mounted firing pin and the major components would be stainless steel. Alan began with a rough cast, custom stainless steel frame that is the same size as an Old Model Ruger. The cylinder was built from scratch as well as the No.5 basepin latch and front and rear sight. The screws, hammer, trigger, sights and basepin were fire blued and provide a beautiful contrast with the stainless parts. Alan finished the gun off with a fine set of ivory stocks.

I had the opportunity to shoot this work of art last summer and I must say that it is THE finest sixgun I have ever handled. I will be visiting with Fermin again this summer and will get the chance to send more lead downrange with it! I can't wait!

Here are a few pics...enjoy!

Nice looking shooter.
Great photos.
Kind of makes my shop projects look a little rough!
Thanks--
Al

Nice gun. By the way, I believe Power Custom is bringing out a #5 backstrap this year which will work with one of their front straps.
